Towering Ambitions: From Private to Public in Renaissance San Gimignano
Professor Deborah L. Krohn, of Bard Graduate Center, will offer a glimpse into the later history of San Gimignano, a town famed for its iconic Medieval towers but, whose rich architectural and artistic achievements dating from the Renaissance period and beyond have been largely overlooked. This talk will provide a context for the current FAI restoration project of
the 13th-century Campatelli Palace & Tower from urban stronghold to historic house museum.
